    • * Verbal warning and/or name on the board.
    • ** Sent to a different seat in the classroom or staying after class.
    • *** Sent to another classroom for the period with assignment.
    • If a student has been sent to another classroom a second time, he/she will need to complete a behavior contract with the teacher, parents will be contacted
Fighting, harassment, challenging teacher authority, or using profane language will result in immediate removal from class and will be dealt with according to district policy and may result in reassignment to a different class.

Tardy Policy:   The school’s tardy policy will be followed.  Warm-ups, quizzes or self-starters cannot be made up due to tardies.  Citizenship grades will be dropped after the third tardy. Electronic Devices: Technology can and should facilitate learning.  Students will have access to a laptop while in class, as such iPods, cell phones and other similar devices will not generally be allowed in class. They are often a distraction and make student learning difficult. Always ASK FIRST before using any electronic device.  Devices used without permission will be confiscated. As per school policy only the parent of the student whose device was taken may pick it up at the front office. Items will not be released to the student.

The use of earbuds/headsets during class is prohibited.  Work not completed because of the use of earbuds during instructional time will NOT be accepted.  Earbuds used during class will be collected and will not be returned to the students.  Parents are responsible for collecting ear buds that are used without permission.

    COVID-19 Addendum

Returning to the classroom during this difficult time brings a number of challenges. I’ve identified four of note:
    1. Ensuring classroom safety
    2. COVID-19 related absences
    3. Potential soft closure with resulting distant learning
    4. Evolving State, District and School Protocols
To meet these challenges I have established the attached COVID-19 protocols.  Please review the document (accessible below) for COVID-19 guidelines.  I am committed to doing my best to establish a safe and healthy environment for your children.  In turn I ask that you encourage your children to use safe health practices around one another and around me.  I have personal health concerns and cannot afford to be lackadaisical with these COVID-19 protocols. Students will be required to follow all safety protocols when in my class room.

Another reasons to learn a second language: It’s obvious that knowing more than one language can make certain things easier — like traveling or watching movies without subtitles. But are there other advantages to having a bilingual (or multilingual) brain? Mia Nacamulli details the three types of bilingual brains and shows how knowing more than one language keeps your brain healthy, complex and actively engaged.
