Assignments for Online Learning
& Review
- Watch and take notes on the Types of Verbs Instructional Video posted below (approximately 32-50 minutes... this will depend on your note taking and/or if you need to rewind and watch different)
- Complete a minimum of four online activities in the section entitled Types of Conjugated Verbs. Practice & Memorization Activities (embedded from Quizlet) for each of the types of Conjugated verbs
- Take the online test entitled "How well do you know your Infinitive Verbs ?" AVAILABLE IN CANVAS (approximately 10-20 minutes). FYI, you should take the exam as many times as necessary to ensure you can demonstrate mastery of infinitive verbs and the types of conjugated verbs.
- Complete the Infinitive Verb Feedback form (approximately 3-5 minutes)
Step 1: Instructional Lecture: Types of Verbs
Watch and take notes on the "Types of Verbs Instructional Video". Be sure to watch the entire video to ensure you understand all of the concepts that are taught.
Regular Verbs in the Infinitive Form
Step II: Types of Conjugated Verbs.
Practice & Memorization Activities
Complete a minimum of four online activities in the section entitled Types of Conjugated Verbs. Practice & Memorization Activities (embedded from Quizlet) for each of the types of Conjugated verbs, i.e four activities from Conjugated Regular Verbs, four activities from Stem Changing Verbs, four activities from Orthographic verbs and four activities from Irregular Verbs. You can choose multiple activities from the Choose a Study Mode in the bottom right hand corner of each set of online study cards.
Conjugated Regular Verbs
To conjugate Regular Verbs simply remove the ending from the stem or root and add the appropriate ending.
Conjugated Irregular* Verbs in the Infinitive Form
These verbs don’t follow regular conjugation rules, generally the ending follows the rules but they typically “march to the beat of their own drummer”
Conjugated Stem Changing Verbs** in the Infinitive Form
There is a change in the stem of the word (within the boot) when conjugating, endings follow the conjugation pattern
Conjugated Orthographic Verbs *** in the Infinitive Form
These verbs generally follow all the rules; however when conjugated phonetics require a spelling change so that word can be said correctly.
